love your blog, girlie! all that equipment sounds great but i'm sorry, i have no reviews for you. i've never bought any of it. i would love a heart rate monitor.
i haven't read any of the memoirs but i just got a couple books from amazon in the mail yesterday that i'd ordered: born to run, and eat fat lose fat. both about subjects relevant to the journey but not the journey itself.
lots of good book suggestions here, i will have to put them on my 'to-read' list!

Hey :o)
We need all the motivation we can get, seriously! I like reading healthy magazines that have stories and hints & tips etc in them. I never throw them away, i just go back through them every so often.

Have you read Ruby's book? [The one with the show on tele] I'd like to know if thats any good.

Whats so special about the body bug? Can't you record the stuff yourself and work out what you need to, without paying an ongoing fee?

I second Becca's recommendation of Confessions of a Carb Queen - excellent read! I haven't read Half-Assed yet, but I do read her blog. I loved reading DietGirl, and I plan to reread it again soon - I absolutely love her blogs, too.

I have read 2 out of the 3 books. I highly recommend both. They both were very affirming of the feelings and mental part of the weight loss. The only negative for me on both was that they were considerably younger then me so their perspective was a little different. Right now I am reading "Thin is the New Happy" by Valerie Frankel. I am about 1/2 done so I will let you know when I finish.

As for the bodybugg... I am a fan even though mine is the older model and it was a gift. You can get them on eBay for cheaper too. You do have to pay the $6.95 per month to log your food.

There are two other products you might want to check into. One is the GoWear which is made by the same company as the Bodybugg and the other one is called a Fitbit. It is $99 and there is no monthly fee to log your food. The bonus about the Fitbit is it also tracks your sleep.

Sorry to leave such a rambling comment!

Another great book is Confessions of a Carb Queen - one of my favorites, and very real and inspiring. You can find it on amazon http://bit.ly/6XLSVW

I'm considering the BodyBugg as well. Costco has it on sale through the month of January for $179 (I believe) which includes a twelve month subscription. Another product you might want to look at is GoWear Fit.
