Ch-ch-changes
I have been visually scanning my body lately for changes.
Some things of note:
- My face looks a little thinner (my Campbell Soup Kid cheeks are thinning out and I can now see a bit of cheek bone definition!)
- My pants are loosening in the leg/thigh area
- My legs look more defined
- My butt is a little smaller
- My underwear fits better
- My side profile appears more defined
The only thing not happening is the decrease in my stomach flab. Of course, for me this is probably the last to go. When I gain weight, it goes directly to my stomach area. One of my aunts used to say that our whole family was walnut shaped.
I have been trying on my pants every week since I started. I am not detecting much of a difference yet. The pants are not as tight and I can button them up without sucking it in. So I suppose that’s a good start, eh? Oh goodness talking about my pants brings out the Yooper in me! LOL
What were the first little changes you noticed about your body when you started losing weight?

I have the same problem with my stomach too! I can’t do enough exercises at the gym! Congrats to feeling/looking better

They say that you don’t notice signifcant changes until you’ve lost around 50lb!! Wow- that’s kind of crazy. I’m only down 27lbs and the first thing I noticed was my arms weren’t as…”bulgy” and my butt disappeared (saggy pants!) lol
I’ll be happy when some of this stomach flab is gone also!

Kellie,
Congrats on the 13 lbs!!!! Fantastic!
My trainer told me he believes that the first place you gain it is the last place you lose it. I have the same stomach issues and it drives me nuts. Cannot wait until that’s gone.
It won’t be long and you’ll be wearing those fav jeans, I just know it.

Seems we all have those darn stomachs! When I was at my goal weight last year (before I gained a bunch back) I was dismayed at how much bigger and fatter my stomach was than in previous thing times. My pants fit in the butt and not in the waist. My mom has warned me for years about the increase in the belly as women age but I thought I had a few years yet:)

I noticed it in my face and belly first. Also my feet believe it or not. I had shoes that did not fit anymore when I started and now they do.

Congratulations on the weight loss! I’m the same with my stomach. Even when I was not overweight, I didn’t have a flat stomach and my upper arms have always been flabby somehow.

Indeed – where you put it on first, you’ll lose it last. But don’t worry about your body shape: what’s important is that you’re doing it. The shape will eventually take care of itself.
Rock on! You’re kicking ass!

Congratulations on getting some pounds off.
I lost some at the beginning of the winter but nothing since then.

The face was definitely the first place I detected a change. For the longest time I always looked puffy. And, in general, I notice just a general difference – every thing just looks like less and my proportions seem to be coming back into alignment.
Congrats on your loss!!

I guess the first thing I noticed was my clothes fitting better. The thing I liked best was the feeling of being in shape.
Keep up the great work, Kellie!!

that is awesome! congrats lady. ummm what’s a yooper?
[Reply]
@LIZ: A Yooper is someone from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We have Canadian accents and “Eh” or rather “Ay” is how we end most of our sentences.
Watch Escanaba in da Moonlight. You’ll get tons of Yooperisms in that movie!
