Computer memory

I wish I could buy memory for my laptop. I have so many programs open at one time, that I use most of my resources without really meaning to. Most PCs and Laptops and Macs tap out at a certain number. For instance, the laptop I am on currently can only have up to 4Gb of memory on it.

It sounds like a lot… and in reality it is a lot. However, sometimes it certainly doesn’t seem like a lot!

  1. Unfortunately there is more to it than this. Depending on your Operating System, your computer may only be able to handle 3 Gig of memory, not 4. If you have a 64-bit OS you can handle 4, otherwise, the last Gig never gets used.

I don’t know you technical level, so please forgive me if I am telling you something you already know. I suspect you could improve your performance by running a program called Malwarebytes Antimalware. Google it – there is a free version. Also, you may have too many programs running all at once that you never use (such as adobe updater). That is a little more complicated to take care of though.
