			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have to admit that I didn&#8217;t work really hard last week other than changing my diet.  I drank more liquids and wrote down everything I ate.  And now, I am 1 pound down.  I know it sounds like such a small feat, but for me, weight loss starts one step at a time.  1 pound down for me, means 1 pound less to lose on my journey.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m going to figure this out slowly&#8230; and that&#8217;s OK.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m also learning to give myself time to &#8220;talk&#8221; to myself before making food decisions.  Because, in the heat of a hungry moment, I always end up making the wrong decision.  I react out of need and instant gratification and grab the first thing available.  And then I feel as though I cheated myself out of a better meal.  So the outcome of that becomes that I eat the instant gratification thing AND the meal that I originally wanted, thereby doubling my calories.  BUT&#8230; if I give myself a chance to discuss what I want to eat BEFORE hastily making a decision&#8230;. then I might save myself some major calories.</p>
<p>Another thing I learned about myself is that I need &#8220;quick&#8221; meals.  I need a meal that can be prepared in 5 minutes or less.  I&#8217;m a busy mom with a business to run and college to attend.  So I find that if I don&#8217;t prepare something ahead of time or have something healthy and quick on hand, then I make wrong decisions (read:  fastfood run).</p>
<p>So for right now, my plan is to always have a frozen Weight Watchers meal in the freezer, 97% fat free popcorn on hand, and a few 1 or 2 point snacks that I can grab in a pinch!  Last week 60 calorie Jello pudding and cheese sticks saved me from making bad decisions!</p>
<p>Thing i&#8217;m doing for myself today:</p>
<p>Working on a website for myself. (normally I work on websites for other people&#8230; but today it&#8217;s all about me!)</p>

		<title>Doin&#8217; it for myself Wednesday</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last month, I <a href="http://chubbygirldiary.com/2009/11/11/weight-loss-and-finding-people-who-get-you/" target="_blank">wrote a post</a> about doing at least one non-food related thing for myself each week and then set it as a challenge for my readers as well.  That week, I went to the library (by myself) and took the time to peruse books.  I even came home with a few!  I felt SOOO good about it that I did it again the next week.  And then, preparation for Thanksgiving came up and I forgot all about doing something good for myself.</p>
<p>So, I am reviving it for myself (not forgotten just put aside for awhile) and will be posting every Wednesday what I did for myself the week before!</p>
<p>Last week I didn&#8217;t do anything but tonight I am going to go on a walk (by myself!  &#8211;Which is huge when you are a SAHM as you rarely get to do anything by yourself) and jam to the tunes on my ipod.  And i&#8217;m going to take big breaths of the crisp pre-winter air and remind myself that life is lovely!  I may even give myself a mental hug and few high fives so that I can take in some serious positive energy (much needed).</p>
