Biggest Loser Final Four: Season 10 least favorite

So, i’m sitting here on my laptop, staring at my lcd monitor and waiting for The Biggest Loser season 10 (final four) episode to air. Those who know me… know that I am a HUGE Biggest Loser fan! I think out of all of the reality shows out there… The Biggest Loser is the most helpful and one of the most inspirational.

I was thinking back on this season, and it occurred to me that Season 10 of The Biggest Loser is probably my least favorite season. I am having a hard time finding inspiration from the contestants this season. The few contestants I felt connected to were voted off. In addition to that, I *miss* the theme song. Now the show opens with contestants grunting through a workout and Jillian and Bob screaming at them. As if we don’t get enough of that during the show already!

I don’t enjoy the open-game play this season. I don’t know what it is… but I find the contestants who are playing the game to be pretty crappy and self-serving. Even though… this season is supposed to be about paying it forward… I really don’t see that with this crop of contestants.

My hope is that Ada will win the whole thing. She seems to work so hard!

What are your thoughts on this season of The Biggest Loser?

I don’t know about anyone else, but I am extremely inspired by the show “Ruby”.  It documents a 500lb woman’s journey to lose weight.

I could not imagine having to go through the journey on television while people are documenting the whole thing.  Ruby’s friends seem to be supportive but at the same time not-so-much as they complain about having to eat healthier around her.  Her ex-boyfriend shows up in one of the first episodes and puts her in an emotional tailspin.  He is also supportive at first but then gives her the same ultimatum … “lose weight or I won’t marry you.”

In my experience (as one who has experienced a lifetime of weight struggles), the ultimatum never works.  Or at least, it didn’t with me.

She lost a remarkable amount of weight.  She is now at 330 lbs. and continuing to lose!

This show is so inspirational.  It is on Bravo (for those of you wondering).

Have you watched the show?  If so, what are your thoughts?
